Engagement
Clients can expect the following:
- Performance of work with precision and attention to detail
- Delivery of a quality product that adheres to the specifications that have been agreed to
- The achievement of deliverables according to agreed milestones and time frames
- Completion of work within the agreed budget
- Confidentiality and the development of a relationship of mutual trust
- Effective communication and information flow
These expectations can be enhanced by ensuring the following:
- Providing timeous communication of changes to the agreed specifications
- Not shifting the goalposts or altering milestones at short notice
- Avoiding scope creep (changes to the initial brief and content provided)
Although the service provider will do everything in its power to ensure that deadlines are met and budgets are not exceeded, the inevitable implications of the abovementioned are additional costs, delayed time frames and a reevaluation of the production schedule, which could imply delayed delivery beyond the control of the service provider.
Clients also recognise the following:
- The service provider offers a unique publication project management service, which cannot be compared to the services provided by contractors that do not offer the full scope of services.
- The costs of a fully integrated publication management service (as provided by the service provider) cannot be compared to those of the delivery of single components in the production value chain (as provided by competing contractors).
- The service provider has the experience and expertise to make recommendations with regard to the length of time a certain process will take to complete. Requesting expedited delivery will impact on the quality of the final product.
- The service provider's experience of the industry ensures that it can be entrusted to act autonomously in the execution of the project and to make decisions on behalf of the client to the benefit of the project as a whole.
